How to get a Facebook Page Access Token
Create a long-lived Facebook Page Access Token and connect it in Easy Social Feed with Setup manually.
Need a Facebook Page Access Token for Easy Social Feed? This guided walkthrough uses the same steps and screenshots from our Page Token guide. Complete one step, then move to the next — you can go back any time.
Important: You cannot display Facebook Events with an access token. Facebook removed that capability from the API.
Step 1 of 4
Step 1 of 4
Create a Facebook Developer Account
Go to developers.facebook.com and click Log In in the top right. Log in using your personal Facebook account.
Note: You must use the username and password from your personal Facebook profile. Facebook doesn’t allow businesses to register as developers — only individuals.

If you haven’t registered as a Facebook developer yet, click the Register button and enter the details Facebook asks for. It usually takes less than one minute.
Nice work. Your developer account is ready. Continue to create your Facebook app.
Step 2 of 4
Create a Facebook App
Click My Apps, then click Create App.

Enter an app name (any name is fine, for example ProCon). Enter your email address and click Create App ID. Complete the security check by confirming you are not a robot.

Select App type. From the list, choose Create app without use case, then click Next.

Leave the app in Development mode. Do not make it live. Development mode is enough for Pages you administer.
App created. Next you’ll generate and extend your Page Access Token.
Step 3 of 4
Get and extend your Page Access Token
Go to developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/ and select the same app you just set up from the Facebook App drop-down list.
In the Add Permissions field, enter the following permissions one by one. If you only want to connect Facebook Pages, you do not need Instagram permissions:
pages_read_engagementpages_show_list
Click the Get Token drop-down and select Get Page Access Token.

Follow the prompts to authorize your app. Ignore the Submit for review notice — the app will remain in Development mode.

Select only one Page from the list so the Page Access Token is generated correctly if you manage multiple Pages.

Once you’ve completed these steps, Graph API Explorer provides a temporary (about 1 hour) access token. Copy this temporary access token.

Go to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/accesstoken/, paste the temporary token into the Access Token field, and click Debug.

Click Extend Access Token at the bottom. It will display the never-expiring access token. Select the token and copy it with Ctrl/Cmd + C.

Token ready. Next you’ll paste it into Easy Social Feed.
Step 4 of 4
How to use the access token
Now that you have the access token, connect it in WordPress:
- Log in to your WordPress site (WP-Admin).
- Go to Easy Social Feed → Facebook or Instagram.
- Click the Setup manually button.
- Select the type: Page or Group (skip this for Instagram).
- Paste the access token you copied earlier into the Access Token field (see screenshots below).
- Click Submit.
- Follow the on-screen steps in the plugin dashboard to display your posts and photos.

You’re done. Your Page is connected with a manual access token. You can create or update your feed from the plugin dashboard.
Troubleshooting
If you’re receiving an error message like:
(#10) To use ‘Page Public Content Access’, your use of this endpoint must be reviewed and approved by Facebook. To submit this ‘Page Public Content Access’ feature for review please read our documentation on reviewable features: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/review.
Then check these three things:
- You are an admin of the Facebook Page you’re trying to display posts from.
- The app is in Development mode and not Live.
- You selected the correct app and Facebook Page when generating the token.
